Probably my last work in 2010

It's the first time I use charcoal, carbon and graphite pencils (I used to draw with black colored pencils and graphite:no:) But now I read books about drawing and discovered how get drak values with carbon and charcoal :boogie:

No idea how many hours I spent....but I really enjoyed drawing her, and I fell very proud with the result.

You've nailed the wisps of hair - I have so much trouble with stuff like that (amongst many other things!)

I forgot, also you can make the white strands with an eraser, i use typing eraser....

For me it is important to give volume to the hair before draw hair by hair, give a 3D structure an then you can worry about details like the wisps or strands....

If the hair have white strands, before you start drawing hair (or the background that sorround the hair) , you can make "grooves" on the paper with an useless pen making invisible traces while you press hard.....this method is called indenting and I learned it from :iconjd-hillberry:
